I’m so excited that it’s hard core garage sale season once again. Now that the girls, or at least one of them is old enough to appreciate the experience, it’s finally worth doing again!
This is my first official garage sale booty of the season (thanks for your likemindedness Lucas!). The yellow buttons are my favorite and as yet I have no plan for them. I’m thinking the dowels will make great bag handles and I already have an idea in mind… The tea cup and saucer is really small and totally cute. I’m thinking of incorporating it into M’s next birthday party.
I’ve been thrift shopping a bit lately too and found a rad table cloth and lots of little golden books, which I love. I have a bunch from the 70’s when my brother and I were receiving them as gifts. Nine times out of ten the girls choose them at story time, instead of all their other many many books. Fun.
Oh yeah, on Friday night, we loaded up a few random items that we’d piled up for donation during our last garage cleaning, and instead took them over to my friend Erin’s house for their neighborhood garage sale. It was a total spur of the moment thing that we didn’t expect it to pay off at all (given our past terrible garage sale (selling) luck). But nearly everything sold and we ended up with $60 or so. Nice. The best part is that we didn’t even have to be there – thanks Erin (and Melissa!)!!! Nothing like a little extra cash, more space in the garage, and one less trip to the donation center (and a random, nighttime ride on a poorly assembled bmx bike with no breaks – thanks guys).
